HATANA Innovation Bootcamp - Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Rwanda.

Background:
HATANA Innovation Bootcamp is an initiative by University of Rwanda, supported by Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Rwanda, to support young entrepreneurs to realize their entrepreneurial and innovative dreams. The first edition will take place in January 2025. In this regard, we are pleased to invite Mastercard Foundation Scholars & under-graduate students from University of Rwanda to jointly apply for this opportunity of upskilling and potential grant investment to support young innovative ideas.

What:
One week Innovation Bootcamp scheduled on 13th-18th January 2025, to guide the participants on the basics of innovation and entrepreneurship. Selected teams will compete for an award of up to 5,000 USD grant to build a prototype of their innovative idea.

– Participants must be a University of Rwanda under-graduate student
– Each idea/team must consist of 3-5 people (minimum 1 Mastercard Foundation Scholar from UR in every team)
– The teams do not need to have a registered company, although registered companies are allowed to apply
– As per the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program guidelines, 70% of the team composition should be females
– Selected participants will receive an invitation early January, and must have representatives attending the January innovation bootcamp.
