Mastercard Foundation Scholars at the University of Rwanda Visit Murambi Genocide Memorial Site.

As part of Kwibuka30, the Mastercard Foundation Scholars at the University of Rwanda visited Murambi Genocide Memorial Site in Nyamagabe District, Southern Province, on 23rd May 2025. The visit aimed to honor the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and served as a profound moment for reflection, learning, and recognizing the importance of remembering and understanding Rwanda’s tragic past. It also emphasized the need to foster resilience, empathy, and a commitment to preventing such atrocities in the future. The visit also offered an opportunity to reflect on the significance of unity and reconciliation in rebuilding the nation.
